Multnomah County Primary, May 2024

This election, Multnomah County faces a tipping point to move toward real solutions, like affordable homes and mental health services for residents who are unable to find homes, to affordable preschool for all so kids can get a healthy start in life. 

Here are BPCC’s endorsements for the Multnomah County primary on May 21:

  • Meghan Moyer, District 1:

    Meghan brings extensive experience leading policy changes and implementation that address systemic barriers and create equitable opportunities for all Oregonians. She will bring real strategies that will make Multnomah County more effective and efficient in meeting the needs of its residents by improving housing services, mental health care, and recovery treatment.

  • Shannon Singleton, District 2:

    Shannon Singleton has a proven track record collaborating with community partners and governments to meet the needs of communities facing inequities.. Shannon will be a champion for racial justice and holistic solutions that address the county’s most pressing issues, including real strategies to address homelessness. As a leader in social services and government, she knows what it takes to support community members experiencing homelessness move into permanent housing. Building Power for Communities of Color strongly supports Shannon’s leadership, and we urgently need this leadership at the county.

  • Vince Jones Dixon, District 4:

    Vince is committed to collaboration and brings community in to his policymaking. His leadership on Gresham City Council will make him a strong voice for East Multnomah County to prioritize. His life and family experiences have made him committed to community safety that addresses the underlying causes of violence, as well as services and housing for residents in need of support.

  • Mike Schmidt, District Attorney

    In his first term in office, Mike Schmidt has moved Multnomah County toward true community safety and equity. In just his first term, he has implemented solutions that help keep low, reversed dozens of wrongful convictions, created a court program that provides an alternative to prison, and protected survivors of domestic violence. Multnomah County needs community safety policies that build real solutions that address and prevent harm.
